What is “mindset”?
It’s a way of thinking. How you will plan your life? If you want to be rich, successful or the worst accepting the fact that you will be poor forever and you can’t do anything about it. When the time Sir Butch had a topic about “mindset”, I had realized something. Since I have been studying in YDC, I and my cousin are walking while going to school every morning. Every time we were passing by at the area of Tres, I’m very sad of what I am seeing. The children were playing in the street with dirty faces, dirty clothes and sometimes with out shorts. Why their parents didn’t even bother if they were dirty? Second, people in the front of the garbage (they call it “PILIAN”). They were choosing garbage that can be sold. I’m not against with the kind of work they have but, I’m concern their health conditions. Third, there were some rugby boys, sniffing rugby even early in the morning. At first, I was thinking that maybe we should blame the government for their wrong management and being corrupt. But, when Sir Butch tackled about “mindset” I had realized that this is the reason. Sad to say, that people from Payatas have very low mindset. They just contented having money for today or until tomorrow. They don’t exert too much effort for having plenty of money far from they needed. And sometimes when they earn much money they just rest or drinking alcoholic drinks because they have enough money so no need to work for the mean time. How gross!!! But me even I’m also a resident of Payatas, I want change. I don’t like to have the same mindset that they have. I will try my best to be successful and prove the world that being is not a hindrance to achieve my dreams. And I know being a student of YDC is a first step to achieve my goals. I will surprise them!
